The pyramids - need we say more?
The only surviving of the 7 wonders of the ancient world, the Pyramids have stood in Giza for over 2000 years.
Built as posthumous dwellings for the great pharaohs and guarded by the Sphinx, these structures are constructed
in ways that still baffle the scientists.
Fun fact: The three pyramids of Giza are the most famous; but there are around 140 pyramids discovered in Egypt,
and some in neighboring countries (Sudan)!
Discover the walking streets of old Cairo.
The old (also called Islamic, or Fatimid) Cairo is home to many charming streets that are full of life and colors.
One perfect example is Al Muizz street, which stretches for about 1km and is the home of street sellers, entertainers and
old, medieval architecture.
Fun fact: Cairo is the location of one of the oldest universities in the world - Al Azhar university - founded in 975 A.D.
Explore the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities.
Its extensive collection of over 120,000 antique items represents but a glimpse into the glorious past of this ancient country.
The institution was established in 1835, and it moved through several location before finding its permanent home in Tahrir square
in 1902, where it remains to this day.
Fun fact: In 1855, all of the artifacts from the Museum were given to the Austrian Archduke Maximilian;
they are still in the historic museum in Vienna.

Luxor - Valley of The Kings (and Queens).
The ancient city of Thebes, known now as Luxor, was one-time capital of the Upper Egypt, and is considered as the world's larges open-air museum.
The temple complexes of Karnak and Luxor stand opposite of the Theban Necropolis, which includes the Valley of Kings and Valley of Queens -
all together forming an outworldly complex of ancient archaeological treasure.
Fun fact: The famous obelisk in the centre of Place de la Concorde in Paris actually comes from Luxor,
and was gifted to the French King by the King of Egypt - Muhammad Ali Pasha in 1829.
